Obituary
Linda M. (Foster) Hendrix, 74, of Springfield passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
Linda was born on October 26th, 1951, to Fred Foster and Fern (Sheldon) Foster, in Waynesville, Missouri.
In 1970 she earned her Beauticians Certificate. She opened The Hair Shoppe in Waynesville and operated it for over 40 years. She developed deep relationships with her co-workers and customers. She served the ladies well beyond the role of beautician and was quick to help anyone in need. If you ever had the joy of stepping into the salon you would instantly feel the happiness the ladies shared.
On February 17th, 1989, Linda married Richard Lee Hendrix. Together they shared over 20 years of marriage. Linda and Richard were soulmates and loved each other deeply. They cherished the huge family they created and loved each other’s children as their own. Linda especially enjoyed cooking big holiday dinners and spending time together after church on Sundays.
Linda loved working in the yard with Richard and playing piano for him when he sang at local churches. She also enjoyed visiting the ocean, fishing, crafts and gardening.
Linda accepted Jesus at a young age and attended church throughout her life. She was survived by: Brother, Robert Foster (Kelly). Six Children: Amanda Harmon (Rob), Andrew Hendrix (Melissa), Jennifer Mattix (Joshua), Justin Block, Robin Ritchie (Tom), Sarah Murphy (Bryant), Fourteen Grandchildren: Aaron, Braiden, Brody, Chance, Isaiah, Jaden, Jonathan, Kayla, Lilly, Lydia, Noah, Rebekah, Samantha, Taylor, Teage and Tyler. Eight Great-Grandchildren: Barrett, Brooklynn, Colt, Emory, Hayden, Joey, Kimber and Malahki. A Niece and Nephew. And her best friend on four legs, Missy.
She was preceded by: Spouse, Richard Hendrix. Parents, Fred and Fern (Sheldon) Foster. Grandparents, Monroe and Martha (Long) Foster; Lewis and Nellie (George) Sheldon.
A Memorial Service led by Pastor Danny Graves will be held at 2:00pm Friday, January 2nd at the Faith Baptist Church in Waynesville followed by Burial in Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
