Obituary

Joe Wayne Seymour, born in Paducah, Kentucky, on August 17, 1956, passed away in Nixa, Missouri, on November 26, 2024, at the age of 68. A proud graduate of Manford High School in Oklahoma, Joe was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend.

He was a man of many stories—some true and some as far-fetched as any. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Bill Seymour; his mother and stepmother, Grandma Seymour; and his brother, Howard Seymour. He also mourned the loss of his mother-in-law, Joan Wyatt, and father-in-law, Edward Wyatt.

Joe is survived by his sister, Debbie Englehardt; his three sons, Jeremy Seymour (47) of Hillandville, MO, Eric Seymour (45) of Springfield, MO, and Jeffrey Seymour (42) of Dunedin, FL; and daughters-in-law Mindy Seymour and Casey Dillon. He was a proud grandfather to six amazing grandchildren whom he cherished deeply: Elijah, Anna, Makenzie, Brysen, Hailee, and Lorynn. Joe also had eight nieces and nephews: John, Julie, Joy, Allison, Travis, Chad, Davin, and Caitlin. He is further survived by Vickie Tjarks, the mother of his three sons.

Joe faced a rough 4.5-month battle with tremendous courage and was a true fighter. He left this world peacefully in his sleep and is now reunited with family members in heaven, rejoicing and praising our Lord and Savior.

A veteran of both the Navy and Army, Joe was a true patriot who loved his country. His infectious laughter could brighten any room, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In the spirit of his character, Joe would encourage everyone to embrace the words of Ephesians.
