The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.
Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff, and Overhead$524.00
Our services include: conducting the arrangements conference online; consulting with family; sheltering of remains; preparing and filing of necessary notices; obtaining necessary authorizations and permits; coordinating with the cemetery, crematory, or other third parties. In addition, this fee includes a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations.)
Embalming[Not Offered]
Embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. Note: Southwest Cremation does not offer embalming services. We work with trusted third-party embalmers when necessary.

We offer one alternative container: a rigid cardboard alternative container at $35.00. This container is included in our Direct Cremation package (Option B, $999.00). Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials. You may also provide your own container that meets crematory requirements (see Direct Cremation, Option A).
Outer Burial Containers (Price Range)N/A
State or local law does not require that you buy a container to surround the casket in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that you have such a container so that the grave will not sink in. Southwest Cremation does not sell outer burial containers; they may be purchased through cemeteries.
Forwarding of Remains to Another Funeral Home[Not Offered]
Southwest Cremation does not offer forwarding services to other funeral homes. We can recommend trusted partners if needed.
Receiving Remains from Another Funeral Home[Not Offered]
Southwest Cremation does not offer receiving services from other funeral homes.

Southwest Cremation does not offer immediate burial services. We are a cremation-only provider. Families seeking burial services may contact a full-service funeral home.

Our charge for a direct cremation (without ceremony) includes: basic services of funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; removal of remains within 60 miles; transportation to crematory; necessary authorizations and cremation; choice of wood or metal urn; 2 certified death certificates; rigid cardboard alternative container; and delivery of remains within 60 miles.

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are a rigid cardboard container.

Cremation is not required by law. Cremation may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a cremation with no viewing. If you do not want cremation, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as delayed or immediate burial. This charge is already included in all cremation packages. Fee includes required alternative container.

The state of Missouri currently charges $14.00 for the first certified copy and $11.00 for each additional certified copy per order. 2 certified death certificates included in Direct Cremation packages.

This package is suitable for those who have passed under the care of Hospice, whether in their own home or a care facility. It includes an alternative container, which is legally required for cremation.
